New Micro PC

Well I picked up another micro pc. This time it was a Dell optiplex 7060 micro and I must say it's quite a nice little box. It's got an 8th gen core i5, 6 core CPU so nothing fancy but will do for what I need, 16GB of RAM but I will be upgrading that to 64GB and it came with a 256Gb nvme drive and has capacity for another 2.5" drive which I'll probably chuck a 1TB SSD in given that should suffice for my lab requirements.

Now I know that the Dell spec sheets say that this only supports up to 32Gb of RAM but I've read quite a few articles online of people being able to throw 64Gb in these bad boys so I'll give it a crack and report back when I eventually get there.

I decided to purchase this one because a) it was a bargain price and b) I wanted to start building up my lab environment. I haven't done much with it yet because of the small 256Gb nvme drive but I plan on getting a 1TB drive soon and will start deploying some VMs to it. In the mean time I might give deploying some of Cisco's virtual switches and routers a go untill I can get the space to deploy something like ISE or if I purchase a VMUG license and deploy vcenter server to start managing my ESX hosts.
